When Connie contacted me about Maxx’s 5 year photos I was nearly in tears.
We’d been Facebook friends for a little while, and I had been watching her family on the internet – their journey was so inspiring and heart warming, so it meant so much to me that she wanted me to capture this amazing milestone.
When I met Maxx I INSTANTLY fell in love. He has the sweetest spirit and such a funny personality. I caught him giving me the stink face when I wanted him to smile, reaching out for my hand when I got close, and he laughed at my fart noises. He touched my heart, and I know he’s touched so many others.
I am so thrilled we were able to make this happen!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAXX!!!!!!
“…She (Mae) has been the best thing we could have given him. She teaches him everything I always hoped he would learn, and secretly dreaded him learning, like how to open doors, or that if you tug on the bottom towel they will all fall out of the closet. They speak their own ‘language’ she understands him.” – ConnieWe squeezed in some couple photos – it was their anniversary the day of the shoot <3 <3 SO CUTE!Connie wanted images of him in his walker since it is a part of his journey. She was very specific about not wanting it to show pity, but to show the true hero and warrior that he his – beating odds day by day with a big ol grin on his face. I see nothing but a hero. They are so blessed to have each other.Part 2 at the park!! Maxx’s happy place <3“He would never come home, he would never be one, he wont be able to communicate, he wont be mobile. Every year we pass a lot of ‘nevers’. At 5 they told us we are completely with out guidance, there is not really any more ‘nevers’ because we just don’t know. He has defeated the odds in more way that I can explain. He is my butt scooting, very affectionate, smiley, maybe not verbally but commutative hero.”Hampton Roads Family Photographer, Christina Barnum Photography, LLC
